Sam Gleaves, Cathy Fink & Marcy Marxer met while on staff at Common Ground on the Hill in 2014. They immediately found common ground in the music they love from Appalachia as well as contemporary songs that keep alive thetradition of singing for and about social justice. They combine their fiddles, banjos, mandolin and guitars into tasty song accompaniment or driving square dance tunes. With nearly forty years between them in age (Sam is 25 yrs. Old) , the trio proves that some music is ageless. Cathy produced Sam’s highly acclaimed CD, “Ain’t We Brothers” with guests Tim O’Brien, Janis Ian and Laurie Lewis.
